Joel Radio #140: Better Than The Jets
Nov 25th
Joel and Corey are fired up after watching the Buffalo Bills destroy the New York Jets at Ford Field in Detroit. They have a lot to say about the game, which was collection of guys that aren’t popular in Detroit, including two former coaches who nobody likes now. Hear about the guys’ exploits at the stadium, as football is more fun when the tickets are free and you don’t care at all about the result. Also, a full breakdown of the allegations against Bill Cosby. Why a famous, powerful man resorts to drugging women, and why what he is accused of is absolutely 100% a crime. Plus, Last Comic Standing is canceled (again), goodbye to Mike Nichols and Tom Magliozzi, Corey streams some old showson Hulu, Banksy Does New York on HBO, and Sex Tape is (probably) the worst movie of the year. There’s also a nuclear fight over an indie movie that Joel loved and Corey despised. Listen to hear why Corey is wrong (It’s not fair because I wrote this, but Corey is still wrong – Joel).

You don’t have to be a Detroit football fan to get this, but it helps. Full size version here.
Joel Radio #128: White Trash Water
May 30th
It’s a comedy-heavy podcast, and we’re not referring to the weight of the hosts, as Corey and Joel sit down to discuss the return of Last Comic Standing to TV and the treatment of comedians on NBC’s other talent competition America’s Got Talent. Turns out the guys have a good friend who received fair treatment on LCS, but otherwise the show seemed a mish-mash of bad edits, questionable judging and low production values, reminding the guys why they hated the show since the beginning. Joel even pulls up a the past seasons’ results to show how the show has passed up big talents and proclaimed nobodys to be America’s next big comedy star only to have their careers fall flat. And AGT isn’t much better, but at least the always funny Dan Naturman was able to prove himself on the debut episode, even if the producers wanted you to think he would fail. Speaking of failing, TBS cancels The Pete Holmes Show while renewing Conan an example of how cruel network politics can really be. And in future comedy/fail news, Joel gets booked to open for an indie rock icon and is already feeling the flop sweat forming, and Corey gives his best advice on opening for rock bands – one of comedy’s toughest and potentially most humiliating gigs. Also, black celebrities are the greatest celebrities of them all, kindergartners shouldn’t graduate, old jokes aren’t always the best ones, and Keenan Ivory Wayans sends Corey into a hilarious multi-state rant that has nothing to do with the LCS judge. Plus, summer movie mania continues with a review of the new X-Men movie, Joel’s thoughts on Godzilla, and A Million Ways To Die In The West proving that you can’t die from not being funny.

Joel Radio #42: Blowing the Vuvuzela
Jun 24th
Joel Radio has World Cup fever. OK – now it passed. Actually, the USA Soccer win to claim the group title was really exciting and former associate Corey Hall was there to watch it unfold. The guys give a full post-game recap, including the revelation that Corey wanted to turn the game off in the final minutes! Then there are the more obvious things, like Algeria’s faux-hawked homo players, the weirdness of the North Korean team, and the fact that most Americans still hate soccer. Also, the guys have a full rundown of last week’s E3 video game conference, including thoughts on Microsoft & Sony’s new motion controllers, the “new” XBox 360 and the complete awfulness that was the new Zelda. Plus, the summer movie season still sucks – even with Toy Story 3, Last Comic Standing returns, and what the world was waiting for – pretzel M&Ms.

Corey and Joel Radio Show #195: BBQ and Cutty Sark
Oct 23rd
Sometimes titles don’t wean anything. Hence this week’s show. Actually, the title is referenced during the show, but sometimes just having weird stuff listed on your website leasds to some funny stuff. Like the list of search queries that lead to this site. It’s not just that someone has searched for “slutty librarians, or “funny banana”, but that someone actually clicked on The Corey and Joel Radio Show in the search results. Hear the list and find out if Corey is secretly married, if Refrigerator Perry is secretly dead, and what the heck is the “Joel Button”? Also, Rudy Ray Moore remembered, Joel meets a Last Comic Standing star, cable bills suck, and Corey’s puts Pizza Hut behind him, literally.

Corey and Joel Radio Show #175: No Earplugs
May 29th
Corey’s a little tired this week after traveling from the Upper Peninsula, eating pasties and sampling cheese. Joel managed to take in a few movies. He liked Indiana Jones more (or hated it less) than Corey and watched Recount on HBO, a film that Corey won’t see. Turns out even liberal Hollywood can’t change the outcome of the 2000 election. Also, we say goodbye to Sydney Pollack who left us with some great movies and a bunch of Death Pool points. Plus, Joel’s morality ruins his enjoyment of porno, and Last Comic Standing returns – as annoying and awful as you remember.
