It looks like stand-up comedy is returning, even in a smaller, socially-distanced way, and Joel talks to the formerly retired comedian Ted Moss about what’s about to happen. Joel tells you about The Comedy Castle’s new procedures for the November re-opening and is proud to announce the return of the Advanced Comedy Class! Ted has…

Joel is blown away by the response of the last episode and has some updates on the whole Roseanne Barr fiasco. Hear about his resistance to go national with the story and how his radio home in Detroit has picked up on the story. He’s joined by Corey Hall and Bill Hildebrandt, the latter back…

Comedian Ted Moss returns to sit in with Joel and tells him everything he knows about comedy. Unfortunately, much of what what Ted has to say is wrong, at least according to Joel. When should comedians introduce new material to their act? How should you approach an open mike at a club versus one at…

Comedian Bill Hildebrandt has been a frequent guest over the years on this show, and he returns to plug his upcoming shows at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle this weekend. Bill thinks it’s his last headlining appearance at the club, but he’s thought that before. Joel asks him about his start in comedy, his past life…

Joel hasn’t always enjoyed the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he still goes to the movies and the most recent one, Ant-Man and The Wasp, was OK. But making people wait for the post-credit sequences has become a frustrating, ridiculous ritual that should probably end. Joel and Corey Hall review the new film, discuss the “stinger”…

This podcast is known for going off on tangents and taking forever to get to the point, but when comedian Tom McCarthy sat in with Joel and Corey for this week’s show, he had no idea what he was in for. Tom has been a staple of the Detroit comedy scene for fifteen years or…

The world seems crazier than ever, as Trump meets a Korean dictator, IHOp changes its name, Anthony Bourdain dies, and the NBA is the most important thing in the world – to some people. Stuff got weird this week. Really weird. Also, Corey Hall meets a big celebrity in Detroit, but it wasn’t a great…

Joel Radio welcomes back comedian Derek Richards who was recently mentioned by Joel as one of the funniest comedians offstage. He lives up to that billing on this show, sharing hilarious road stories, tales of really bad gigs, descriptions of life in Florida and Las Vegas and much more. Corey Hall had some bad gigs…

What did you do for fun this Labor Day weekend? Corey Hall braved the huddled masses and saw and aging B-52s at a free festival, while Joel took a high-dollar option to watch an aging U2. Corey describes the horror of middle America searching for some free fun, while Joel thinks U2 was good a…

On this episode, Joel recaps another Gathering of the Juggalos, including him finally getting some good press for a change. The big takeaway is probably the crime, or lack thereof, at the 2017 festival site in Oklahoma City. Joel details the eight people arrested and what they got pinched for, and compares it to recent…

Hey Upchuck (Joel), love the show great as always. I’ve been listening since day one, and love it…even with Corey’s constant player hate of anything Juggalo and ICP related. You guys are hilarious, I just wanted to say that. I’ve listened to everything from the funhouse, to Corey and Joel radio, to even now.

Hey guys! LOVED this.
Really enjoyed hearing some of the comedy of the guys you’ve interviewed over the years.
I would have loved full sets from each of you, but I understand you might not feel like giving away what you sell.
Great show.

Loved it, but seemed a little “biased.” Just my thoughts whether you agree or not!
