Joel Radio # 209: Three Arguments Outside Savannah, Georgia
Dec 22nd
The last show of 2017 sees lots of holiday spirit as Joel and Corey Hall fight over a movie that critics loved and the audience liked far less – no, not Star Wars (but they get to that), instead it’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Joel found the characters unlikable and the film boring, while Corey thinks the allegorical message and fine performances made it stand out. It’s a classic argument, but one to consider if you’re into seeing the Oscar-bait movies that come out this time of year. Also, Joel sees Bruce Springsteen’s Broadway show with some A-list company but braved a terrorist attack and snowstorm to do so. Plus, a road update from Ted Moss on his tour through the south, including Joel embarrassing him and Bill Reno in Savannah, Georgia, The Disaster Artist gets reviewed, and more Star Wars coverage at the end of the show. Hear how the guys nailed all the controversies before they even started and how those controversies will impact the future of the franchise.

This image is more entertaining than the film, says Joel anyway
Joel Radio #181: The Trip
Sep 21st
Joel returns from a week-long trip to the East Coast, with stops at the Flight 93 Memorial, the Jersey Shore, Providence, Niagara Falls and attending two epic Bruce Springsteen shows in Pittsburgh and Boston. Joel shares his memories of the trip, the challenge of losing weight while on it, and the rigorous travel schedule, but Corey Hall isn’t impressed. In fact, that’s a theme for the show that Corey isn’t impressed with anything Joel likes or cares about. This comes to head as Joel reviews the excellent, insightful CBS investigation of the JonBenet Ramsey killing which Corey mocks as some prurient interest of Joel’s and not a genuine review of the show. This disagreement continues from there, and if you’re a long-time fan you see where this is going. Also on the show, Joel watches the Corey Feldman musical performance for the first time, the new Beatles doc gets a review, Corey rates son of Zorn and Sully, and a full Emmy review with the winners and losers revealed. Plus, Joel is buying tickets to see Eddie Murphy, journalist Steve Miller recounts his time on Joel Radio, a studio power update, and Branson, Missouri has the best line-up of shows you’ll never, ever want to see.

Joel Radio #171: Eat This
May 4th
After a well-received live show, Joel returns to the studio with Corey Hall to recap his eventful vacation to Florida and New York City. The highlights include riding wacky tourist bikes on Marco Island, and a very funny appearance by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie at Bruce Springsteen’s tour finale in Brooklyn. Joel also ate at some legendary New York establishments, although Corey is not impressed with Joel’s selection. The guys also say goodbye to Prince, and Joel put together a selection his career highlights as well as some popular songs that he wrote that were covered by others. It’s a far-reaching list of some of the best tunes of the era and you’ll also hear Prince’s Minnesota Vikings theme song that we’re not sure was ever used. Also, television controversy as Kelly Ripa feuds with Michael Strahan, Stephen Colbert gets rebooted, and Steve Harvey gets another TV show and Corey can’t take it anymore. Plus, Flea butchers the national anthem, the prophetic Prince blind item that predicted his death, and Shake Shack vs In-N-Out Burger from one person’s opinion that’s had both.

Joel Radio #118: The Middle School Dance
Dec 14th
They say “If you can remember the ’80s, you weren’t there”. Actually, they say that about the ’60s. No matter, as guest John Tenney remembers the ’80s and tried to bring back some of that feeling to a recently middle school dance where he was the DJ. As you’ll hear, John’s choice of ’80s dance-floor filler flopped with the kids – but the teachers loved it! Hear Joel, John and Corey’s memories of the dances of their youth and hear the songs to which the podcasting stars of the future would touch their first tits. Also, Bruce Springsteen tells dirty jokes for charity and he might have been drunk! Listen for yourself and decide. Plus, Corey hangs with Gilbert Gottfried and talks SNL (of the 80s!), Panda cookies are delicious, The Hobbit should go back in his hole, and much much more on this fun, nostalgic episode of Joel Radio.

Joel Radio #91: From Paris to Wrigley
Sep 13th
It’s been a long time and a lot has happened to our intrepid podcasters since the last show. Corey got married and jetted over to Europe for the honeymoon, where he and his new bride indulged in sightseeing, museum touring and french fry eating. Joel, meanwhile, took his prize to see Bruce Springsteen in Chicago at Wrigley Field. Again, a fine trip, with the exception of the pouring rain during the show, the sea of humanity on the Red Line train and the ass-rape prices for everything including a near $100 trip to the aquarium. Hear about Corey making jam for the wedding guests, why he almost missed his flight, and why Amsterdam’s red-light district didn’t entertain the missus. While Joel’s GF enjoyed the concert, especially the special guests, but not Eddie Vedder as much as that “other guy” whom she never heard of. Plus, it’s a historic candy crossover at Costco, the real difference between Snickers and Milky Way (it’s not just peanuts!), and Corey’s pessimism about the new TV season is summed up in one new show.

Joel Radio #83: The Avengers of Podcasting
Apr 27th
This week, Corey Hall gives his review of The Avengers, a movie so long in the making that the twelve-year-olds who really wanted to see this movie are now in their mid-thirties. Still, Corey is enthusiastic, while Joel feels that the general public isn’t really feeling this film, but it’ll make $200 million on opening weekend and about three-hundred bucks after that. Speaking of juvenile movies, the guys see Aardman’s Pirate movie (it’s OK), and Joel thinks Disney’s Chimpanzee is a collision of state-of-the-art visuals and cliched animated film narration – a near miss at a classic. Also, Dick Clark finally dies, Levon Helm sadly dies, and Mike Wallce dies as he lived – an asshole. Plus, HBO’s Girls is not for guys, Corey suffers through Law & Order, and Joel finally sees Bruce Springsteen after a twenty-five year wait.

Corey and Joel Radio Show #110: A Lots Sexy Gay
Mar 8th
With just a week until the big two year anniversary roast spectacular, the boys take a nostalgic trip back to the early days of podcasting, before everyone on earth had a show, and dickheads started ripping C&J off. Other topics: Joel gets a haircut at he black barber shop. Did he get a high top fade? Will he need to start using that wave cap? Speaking of blacks, how did the star of Booty Call become black America’s most respected actor? Also, Corey makes a trip to the adult novelties store, just what turns him on? Naughty nurses? More like slutty librarians. Why does every new band want to sound like Bruce Springsteen? UFC star Chuck Liddell proves that Nyquil and morning TV don’t mix, a psuedo-celebrity death, and what crazy search engine queries do people use to find the show? Naked Latino booty?
